Set within the prestigious Lutyen’s Delhi, the residential complex comprises of a series of family buildings. Clustered around a central sunken water court, the symbolic heart of the compound becomes a common recreational gathering for the multi-generational family. The meandering exterior corridor connects sub-courtyards and pavilions, engaging the inner courtyard with a variety of views and landscapes.
Harkening back to the majestic Haveli of India’s western region, the architecture is grand yet understated. Throughout the complex, just 2 elements comprise the main palette. A uniform white granite stone form wall planes, landscape features, and walkways, which are articulated with variations in finish and pattern, adding detail and intricacy. A lighter juxtaposition, weathered timber is employed for screens, rafters, and columns and provides a warmth.
The residence is weaved within a crafted landscape that balances formal courtyards and lawns, with a curated variety of lushly planted spaces and horse-riding facilities.
