OUE DOWNTOWN | Singapore
SCDA's redressing of an ageing Singaporean architectural icon introduces a sheathing of metal, glass and timber to a pre-existing late-modernist office complex.
Claiming their place along Singapore's skyline, the buildings' main structural elements are articulated to emphasize verticality, intersecting with a horizontal plinth below, which marries several existing buildings with a coherent tectonic language.
Located along Singapore's famed Shenton Way, articulated moments of entry seamlessly manage flows of foot and vehicular traffic, and are integrated with the design of greenery and hardscape on the ground plane, connecting OUE Downtown with the rest of the Central Business District.
